is a clear example of working light tones into a middle-tone ground. This began as the sketch above, was then transferred and painting directly with spraypaint. The light source being back-lit on this piece I chose to work more distinct lights and neutrals into the middle-ground in order to accurately set up the lighting and mood of the piece.
