Been busy with a few different projects since I've been back, but I did manage to escape to the wonderful
Body Worlds and the Story of the Heart this week. Wonderful and artistic view of human and animal anatomy from the mind of
Gunther Von Hagens, and the
Institute for Plastination in Germany. I only had about 45 minutes to sketch, focusing most of my attention on
The Kneeling Dancer, I will be returning for some long poses with the numerous specimens on display. The process is fascinating, and the arterial specimens are out of this world, somehow dissolving away all soft tissue and bone and leaving only plastinated arteries and blood vessels, amazing! I highly recommend stopping by and taking in this wonderful exhibit. Also the Body Worlds of Animals has just gone on display in Germany! Even more exciting, hopefully that will make it to the mile high soon.
